Our Support Coordination Team

Janelle started as a Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach with Ipswich Therapy Centre in February 2020.  Janelle had a special interest in Mental Health for many years and has been accredited with Mental Health First Aid Australia, for the past 8 years. Janelle had worked in the disability sector in the Ipswich area for 25 years, starting off as a support worker, and upskilled over the years to become a Case Manager/Lead Practitioner.  This involved all aspects of managing several supported accommodation homes for people with disabilities, including managing, mentoring, and supporting the staff.  Janelle also worked in Child Protection, and in Aged Care as a diversional therapist and activities officer for around 5 years. Janelle completed her Degree in Social Work, as a mature age student with Southern Cross University, majoring in Community Development and Counselling and Mediation, while raising her two children. All of these experiences have given Janelle great insight into the everyday lives of our NDIS participants so she really can understand the complexities and challenges in their lives.  Janelle is very passionate about empowering all of those around her to live their best life possible, in the best way they can which makes her an extremely valuable Support Co-ordinator at Ipswich Therapy Centre. Janelle also enjoys volunteering and has varied roles as a volunteer fire fighter and assists with phone counselling, reassurance, and friendship calls to those who are isolated Janelle is also our fire warden! Janelle has a son and a daughter who are now in their 30’s, but no grandchildren yet!   On any given weekend Janelle would rather be driving up the beach, or checking out new camping areas in South East Queensland in her caravan, while waiting to head off for that long trip around Australia. As excited as we are for Janelle to start her travels around Australia, we are very grateful to have her in our Therapy Centre & she always goes above & beyond for her clients.
 

Kristy is our newest Support Coordinator that the joined us here at Ipswich Therapy Centre. She has so much first-hand experience with supporting people with complex disabilities in her personal and professional life. 

Kristy has a love for people and strives to ensure her clients feel heard. She is confident in her abilities to help her clients with anything they may need, even facing the more difficult problems head on. 

Kristy is passionate and bubbly, and believes that life should be fun, loud and vibrant.
Kristy is a mum of two and is very protective of her own. She enjoys a cold night, warm blanket and a good movie.
